Missouri has one of the top 2026 classes in the country, but that doesn't mean they're finished just yet. After St. Louis native Quinten Coleman, got his release from his Wake Forest commitment, Mizzou was quick to throw their hat in the ring. Now, it seems like things are moving quickly.
Coleman committed to the Demon Deacons last fall, but decommitted earlier this month. The Tigers were not initally in the mix for the local product, but it seems like now they are in the driver's seat to land the four-star recruit.
According to On3, Coleman has a visit scheduled with Mizzou for next month.
Quinten Coleman could be the final piece of an elite 2026 class for Missouri
Missouri and head coach Dennis Gates already have three top-100 recruits for 2026, but may add a fourth with Coleman. Headlined by five-star guard Jason Crowe Jr., Mizzou has at top-10 class that could become a top-five one should they land Coleman, who is the No. 34 player in the country based on 247Sports' rankings.
After a disappointing end to 2025, the Tiger could use a few things to look forward to in 2026. The Tigers are losing arguably their three best players to graduation, so there will be plenty of new faces on next year's squad. While it's still unclear how the transfer portal might play, both for and against Mizzou, there's no question this incoming freshman class will bring some juice to CoMo.
Crowe figures to be an immediate starter at point guard, but beyond that, the lineup for next year is completely up in the air. Potentially Coleman could slide in next him, but he may need some more time to come along. Still, there's no question adding the local star would be a big boost for a team that desperately needs a strong season.
