With the conclusion of the season and the start of the offseason, Mizzou wasted no time making adjustments to their roster, with six players entering or exiting the transfer portal in just the first two weeks.

This is in addition to the seven players who graduated, including multiple starters. Head coach Dawn Sullivan will have a significantly different-looking team heading into 2025, and she and her staff will need to be prepared for the challenge.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the roster adjustments that have already been made following the end of the season.

Departures

Aspen Maxwell

The first player to enter the portal was a freshman outside hitter from Humble, Texas. She appeared in three matches during the 2024 season but didn’t have a significant impact. As one of the final players remaining from the Joshua Taylor era at Mizzou, her departure didn’t come as a surprise to many.

Tatum Longnecker

Another player departing is the backup libero from Phoenix, Arizona. After redshirting her freshman year in 2023, she returned in 2024 hoping to make a bigger impact. However, with Sands handling libero duties throughout the season, Longnecker had limited opportunities. She appeared in just one match in 2024, against Kansas City, which ended up being her only action of the year.

Alayna Peason

Another departure is sophomore libero Alayna Pearson. After two years in the SEC—her first at Texas A&M and her second at Mizzou—Pearson has entered the transfer portal for the third time. She appeared in 17 matches at Texas A&M before joining the Tigers, where she played in six more matches during the 2024 season. Now, she looks to find her next opportunity.

Sarah White

Before her two years at Mizzou, White began her career at Ohio State, where she redshirted her freshman year and contributed during her sophomore season, including being part of the Buckeyes' 2022 Elite Eight run. She spent the 2023-2024 seasons with the Tigers as the backup setter behind Crownover before entering the transfer portal. White has since landed at USF for her final year of eligibility.

Caylen Alexander

After spending 2022 and 2023 as a role player at the University of Hawaii, where she totaled just over 400 kills across two seasons, she made a massive leap forward in 2024. Emerging as one of the best players not only in her conference but also in the country, Mizzou's new outside hitter finished the 2024 season with an impressive 611 kills (5.09 per set), along with 292 digs and 57 total blocks.

These accomplishments earned her Big West Player of the Year and AVCA All-Pacific Region honors, as well as an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention. She joins Maya Sands and Jordan Iliff as Tigers who have received the same national recognition.

Grace O’Reilly

Springfield, Missouri native O’Reilly joins the Tigers after spending the past two seasons at Long Beach State. The 6-foot-1 opposite hitter redshirted her freshman year before breaking through in her sophomore season, appearing in nine matches and recording 48 kills with a .202 hitting percentage. The lefty also contributed 11 digs, providing additional depth to the lineup.
