Mizzou Track & Field finished day one of the Crimson Tide Invitational with a top-five finish on Friday. MUTigers has the full story.

In track events, Nicole Mello placed fifth in the 5,000-meter women’s run, with a time of 16:58:24.

In field events, Ahren Bohanan placed fifth in the men’s Hammer Throw, with a distance of 58.22 meters. Rebecca Keating placed fourth in the women’s Hammer Throw, with a distance of 57.89 meters. Reinhard Can Syl placed third in the men’s Javelin, with a distance of 66.49 meters,  and Alex Pascal placed fourth in the men’s Javelin, with a distance of 66.23 meters.

Also finishing was Patrick Kunza, who placed sixth in the men’s Hammer Throw, with a distance of 57.91 meters, Emily Staffer, who placed 17th in the women’s Hammer Throw, with a distance of 46.42 meters.
