O-H-I-O! The band’s biggest moment is when the tuba player “dots the ‘i.'” For a school that does graduate a lot of students, one thing is for sure: They graduate knowing how to spell Ohio, flawlessly.

Next to Alabama, my distaste for Ohio State is probably second-to-none. Maybe it’s the amount of success their football program has held over the last decade and beyond; maybe due to their seemingly flawless winning ways, they remind me too much of Alabama.

At any rate, I love to dislike Ohio State, and I especially can’t stand the ridiculous looking mascot: An anthropomorphic nut, and an otherwise inanimate object, outside of Columbus.

Unfortunately, “The” Ohio State, holds the lion’s share of wins against Mizzou, at 10-1-1. Leave it to the “Bucks” to not finish the job.

The last time Missouri played against Ohio State was in 1998, when the Buckeyes won 35-14. Their largest win over Mizzou was 54-0 in 1944.

Missouri’s only win over the Buckeyes was in 1976, when the Tigers barely escaped Columbus, 22-21. The tie game occurred in 1946, 13-13, when Don Faurot coached Missouri.

In the 20-plus year rematch, I would say that the Tigers would probably suffer a closer loss than they did in 1998. As much as it pains me to say, Ohio State has landed some solid recruits over the years. But in 10 years time, and with a change in the coaching staff, that could also have an effect on the Buckeyes.

I can’t bear to see Ohio State win, and since they probably would anyway, I’ll go with a narrow Tigers win in this one, after all.
