Kickoff forecast — 62 degrees, mostly cloudy, winds East 6 to 11 mph, 80 percent chance of showers/thunderstorms.
Other conference games — Mississippi State at Texas A&M; No. 9 Auburn at No. 2 LSU; South Carolina at Tennessee; Arkansas at No. 1 Alabama.
Vanderbilt game plan — Kentucky has a receiver playing quarterback in Lynn Bowden Jr. The new guy under center has played two games for the Wildcats at QB and is 1-1. They haven’t been able to throw the ball too much, so the ‘Cats will look to attack the Mizzou defense on the ground in hopes of finding some targets outside. On defense, Kentucky is best at stopping the pass. The Wildcats have caused 10 turnovers so far this year.
Missouri game plan — Mizzou needs to get the rush going as that is the weak point of the Kentucky defense. This could be a good game for either running back in Larry Rountree III or Tyler Badie. QB Kelly Bryant could attack the Wildcats on the ground as well. Look for Mizzou to hit some open targets on slant routs or crossing patterns while going to the air. On defense, Mizzou will look to stop the run first while anticipating Kentucky to attempt some passes after completing just two in last week’s game against Georgia.
